Affordable rides and higher earnings for drivers are guaranteed! Book Bharat Taxi starting January 1st
The government's Bharat Taxi service will begin in Delhi on January 1, 2026. This service will benefit not only the general public but also drivers. Initially, only Delhi residents will be able to take advantage of this service. Let us tell you which city will launch this service after Delhi?
There is great news for the people living in Delhi and thousands of taxi drivers. The government is going to do something which will not only provide relief to the general public but will also benefit the cab drivers.
From January 1, the taxi service Bharat Taxi is going to start in the country's capital Delhi by the Ministry of Cooperation of the Central Government.
On the one hand, this service of the government will provide a new and cheap option to the passengers, on the other hand, it can be a big challenge for big and private taxi aggregator companies like Ola, Uber and Rapido.
When will you be able to book a ride?
Starting January 1, 2026, the new year, you'll be able to easily book rides by downloading the Bharat Taxi app onto your phone. The government's goal in launching this service is to make transportation in the country's largest metro cities convenient and affordable.
After Delhi, this government-run taxi service will also be launched for the general public in Rajkot, Gujarat. This means that people living in other cities across the country will soon be able to take advantage of the Bharat Taxi service.
Money will be saved and drivers' earnings will increase
Bharat Taxi is designed to offer affordable rides compared to other private companies. This will not only save you money but also benefit cab drivers.
While private companies take a significant portion of cab drivers' earnings as commissions, Bharat Taxi will reward drivers with the maximum reward for their work.
Drivers will receive more than 80 percent of their earnings, with the remaining 20 percent going toward their operations and welfare.
In Delhi alone, more than 56,000 drivers have registered. Bharat Taxi offers not only cars but also autos and bikes. Trials of this service have already begun in Delhi and Rajkot, Gujarat.
