Rishabh Pant's shoe became a topic of discussion
Rishabh Pant came out to bat after Shubman Gill retired hurt. As soon as he stepped on the field, his shoes became a topic of discussion. One of Rishabh Pant's shoes was black at the front.
However, the other shoe was not; it was white. Pant wore the black shoe on the same foot from which he had recovered from an injury. It is possible that the shoe was designed with that foot in mind.
Indian record created in two designs of shoes
Rishabh Pant, who played at Eden Gardens wearing two different shoe designs, broke a major record held by Virender Sehwag.
In the first innings of the Kolkata Test, Pant faced 24 balls and scored 27 runs, including two fours and two sixes. During this innings, Rishabh Pant surpassed Virender Sehwag and set an Indian record.
Pant breaks Sehwag's record
Rishabh Pant broke Virender Sehwag's record for most sixes in Test cricket. Virender Sehwag had hit 90 sixes in Test cricket. Prior to the Kolkata Test, Rishabh Pant was tied with Sehwag with 90 sixes.
Pant broke Sehwag's record with the first six of his innings at Eden Gardens. He now has a total of 92 sixes in Test cricket, a new Indian record.
