Viral Video: Dead cockroach coffee is available in this country, it is added to enhance the taste, you will be shocked to see this thing
A surprising coffee from China is making the rounds these days. A museum offers coffee made from cockroaches. When the video surfaced, everyone was astonished. This video has been shared on Instagram.
It's no secret that most people reach for coffee first thing in the morning. Its aroma, warm sip, and soothing aroma make starting the day easy.
Imagine what your first reaction would be if that same coffee was topped with a crushed cockroach instead of chocolate powder.
Obviously, anyone would be tempted. Surprisingly, this is actually being served at an insect museum in Beijing, and even those watching the video are backing away from trying it.
According to a report in the South China Morning Post, this museum is currently in the news for its unusual coffee. The café serves a drink called Cockroach Coffee.
This drink is topped with dried and finely ground cockroach powder, and yellow mealworms are seen floating in the cup. The price is also quite low, with a cup costing around 45 yuan, or approximately 560 rupees. The real challenge isn't the price, but the courage to drink it, and not everyone has that.
How is this coffee prepared?
Now, speaking of its preparation, the entire process is as unusual as it is surprising. First, cockroaches are collected and dried. Then, these dried insects are ground into a powder.
Dried mealworms are then added to the prepared coffee. After filling the cup, a light layer of cockroach powder is sprinkled on top, which has become the hallmark of this coffee.
Those who have dared to taste it have given quite interesting opinions. Many have said that this coffee tastes neither like coffee nor like any other normal beverage.
It has a slight sourness and an earthy aftertaste. One blogger, Chen Xi, drank it all with his eyes closed. Upon coming out, he said that it wasn't as bad as he thought, but he wouldn't drink it again.
Reactions on social media have been equally strong. One user wrote that even if he were offered money, he wouldn't let such a thing touch his mouth.
The museum says that both cockroaches and mealworms are readily available in traditional Chinese medicine shops. They claim that in TCM, cockroach powder is believed to improve blood circulation, while mealworms are said to be beneficial in boosting the body's immune system. While experts may differ on these claims, the museum calls it a kind of experiential drink that people are trying out of curiosity.

Interestingly, young people view this coffee as a unique experience. For them, it's like trying something new. They even consider it a healthy beverage because the museum is presenting it that way.
Meanwhile, parents keep their children away. The mere mention of a cockroach makes them feel unsure about touching it. Many families visit simply to satisfy their curiosity, but only observe the coffee from a distance.
